The Team

Corringham Athletic Red were formed in the summer of 2004 by our manager Ken McDonald. In a matter of a few short weeks he gathered 9 boys and formed a rag-tag football team. Some of the boys had never played football before.

We joined the Thundermite League, under 9's Venus Division, with help from some parents and a lot of hard work from the boys, the team went on to win the league in their first year. A quite remarkable achievement!

Their second season saw them promoted to the Jupiter Division under 10's. We were joined by 4 new lads who fitted in with the team instantly. Again with a lot of determination, character and grit the boys went on to win their second league champions title.

The squad has now extended again, in readiness for our third season, playing 11-a-side football instead of mini soccer. The extra boys we found compliment our side perfectly and have already helped us win a third title:
"The LTD Under 10's Tournament Champions 2006".

As you can imagine we are extremely proud of our boys and the team's achievements. Our squad is now complete and we believe very strong. We have been promoted from the bottom division football to premiership football in just two seasons!
If we keep up the hard work and keep pushing ourselves to the limits who knows where we will go next?

Scott Taylor
